Can gays raise children?

Hell yes, they can.

“…Your family doesn’t derive its sense of worth from being told by the State “you’re married! congratulations!”. No, your sense of family comes from the commitment we make to each other to work through the hard times so we can enjoy the good ones. It comes from the love that binds us. That’s what makes a family.”

What a fantastic young man Zach Wahls is – I imagine his mom’s must be very proud!

Day 18 → Your views on gay marriage

Day 18 → Your views on gay marriage

This is a stupid question. In fact, I am even irritated that its enough of an issue to be considered a question.

If someone wants to get married, let them. Why should it be anyone else’s business? How does their marriage have any impact on your marriage or lifestyle?

Gay people deserve the same rights as straight people and that includes being able to enter into and enjoy the benefits of marriage. And don’t get me started on civil partnerships – they are not equal to marriage and I find it a little insulting that they are seen as an option. It sounds like something thought up by the straight folk to get the gay folk to just keep quiet for a few more years while they think up another interesting way to avoid the issue. Its BS if you ask me (and yes, you did ask me :P).

Right, off my soapbox. For now.
